Welcome to the Fu Lab

Our lab is inspired by the power of molecular metabolism to guide cell adaptation and cell fate, especially in response to stress. We leverage mass spectrometry platforms to discover pathways that are essential for pancreatic b-cell survival and function. Our innovative tools and methodologies allow us to investigate the islet microenvironment in both healthy and diabetic contexts. We rigorously test the translational and therapeutic potential of our molecular discoveries using human donor tissues and in vivo mouse modeling in hopes of making meaningful advances in molecular metabolism and diabetes research.
